If anyone had told me ten years ago that I would have become an orthodontia patient in my late 50’s, I wouldn’t have believed it.
But my teeth started shifting years ago – to the point where my upper teeth were seriously out of alignment and the bottom were so crowded that the top of one healthy tooth actually broke off due to the pressure.
Something had to be done. First, I visited the clinic of my new dentist, Dr. Ned Windmiller. After a lot of repair and rejuvenation, it was suggested that I needed to see you about orthodontia. I knew it needed to be done, although I hated to think about having braces again at my age.
But I did my homework and came to see you. I was impressed with you, with your clinic and with your approach. Even so, I was still hesitant to make the commitment. So I did nothing for another year or so until I realized that, as you often said, the time will go by anyway. Why not come out of it with a dazzling new smile?
So we got started. And in only a little more than 18 months, my teeth looked great. I felt that I was in good hands the entire time and that I could always count on you to tell me what was happening, how I was progressing and what I could do to help the process along. You were the consummate professional and I am forever grateful for what you have done for me.
It’s been a pleasure working with you and everybody on your staff. What a great group of people! They were always helpful, caring and respectful of my time and schedule. In fact, my visits were something that I started looking forward to - a fun event on my journey to a happy, healthy smile.

"A crisp juicy apple was the first food I ate after getting my braces removed. Prior to getting braces, I was having trouble biting into an apple or other foods with my front teeth. Over time, my front teeth had overlapped enough to make certain chewing actions difficult, and an increasing problem with a cross bite in my back teeth was beating the insides of my cheeks. I'm so glad I decided to correct these problems with braces. I'm especially happy that I chose Sletten Orthodontics and their very talented orthodontic team.
